aLook at all this loveliness! So beautiful and fresh. This weekend is all about classic and elegant. We are going to make this happen with an abundance of soft, romantic flowers like hydrangeas, roses and lisianthus.

The fresh comes with the use of freesia, maiden hair ferns, lilies and sedum.

The magic happens when we incorporate these little beauties….some stunning white phanlenopsis orchids and some rare lady slipped orchids.

This wedding was a match made in heaven, in floral heaven for me and the Verbena team. There is no better way to say “summer wedding”, then with hydrangeas, and lots of them in shades of vibrant blue, white and green. Just look at these fantastic blooms….

Nicole and Drew were married under the summer sun washed sky of a quintessential British Columbia summer evening. Nights like these and there is no where else on earth more beautiful. Sea Cider Farm and Ciderhouse, was the perfect place for this fabulous wedding of two fabulous individuals.

Beautiful Nicole in her stunning gown surrounded by her beautiful bridesmaids in their floor length navy blue dresses, were quite simply perfection.

Nicole’s bouquet was a lush hand-tied filled with whites, greens and hints of blue. Her girls carried bountiful posies filled with hydrangeas in all the shades of blues, greens and whites.

See more details and the team of talent that makes it all happen in post #2

Sometimes you just have to let the pictures tell the story. I guess that is the essence of photography. I am not a photographer by any means, but I do appreciate the beauty that my friends and colleagues capture every weekend while shooting weddings. This particular wedding was shot by one of my favourites, Karen McNeil. So in the interest of the sweet anticipation I feel while I wait to see her version of events, I will post mine here. My version is the flowers in all their beauty and colour. Filled with texture and shades of chartreuse, sage, and white this wedding was all West Coast.

Now is when it all starts coming together into a beautiful bouquet filled with all manner of whites, greens and some fabulous texture. We used, poppy pods, scabiosa pods, a special protea called blushing bride from South Aftrica.

If I had to be working on my birthday, then there could not be a better couple too work for then Kim and Matt, owners of Still Life Boutique. What a beautiful crowd of beautiful people in a beautiful spot surrounded by beautiful flowers and beautiful vintage details, and beautiful wooden accents created by Matt himself.

Gorgeous little place card holders on antique crocheted table runners.

Beautiful antique bottles filled with incredible peonies and soft ladies mantle, and asters on carved cedar planks

Hand carved walnut table numbers surrounded by more vintage loveliness. The fantastic vintage finery was rented from the lovely Josephine at Victoria Vintage Rentals. There is a treasure trove of vintage goodness there and we are so lucky to have her here on the Island.

Beautiful and bountiful peonies and hydrangeas spill out of an old suitcase…

Sweet, sentimental details everywhere and the masterpiece, piece de resistance, the INCREDIBLE cake from the amazingly talented Corrina Ludwig of Passion for Cakes.

And to finish this post some beautiful shots of the bouquets, that were filled with all manner of soft, romantic and fluffy blooms. Peonies, garden roses, sweet peas, and lisianthus. Heaven!

Still Life and Still Love…..
