We were happy to be asked by Island Bridal Guide to provide the florals for their gala reception to launch their new high end Bridal Guide. We decided to follow in the footsteps of one of our favorite weddings from the summer, especially given that it was at the lovely Villa Marco Polo.

We found a little slice of Italy in Central Saanich. The small hazelnut farm was transformed into a spectacular venue for a beautiful reception. The vision was a simple elegant and intimate table for 75. We kept the floral decor to a minimum using potted herbs, we had been cultivating since early June so they would be full and lush. We potted them in rustic clay containers, they were interspersed with ivory pillar candles, and small votives. The entire tent was truly glowing and bathed in candle light.

The bride wanted simple with a bit of rustic. For the bridesmaids we mixed white and ivory blooms with a few accents of ladies mantle(from the brides childhood garden) and wrapped them in a simple white satin ribbon. The bride’s bouquet was primarily whites and ivorys with “hints” of lavender and pink. The lavender came from the same garden and the pink was incorporated using a few garden roses from her father’s rose bushes. The biggest component was the addition of gardenia blooms, the bride’s favorite flower. The entire studio smelled like a hawaian beach for 3 days!

How could we pass up the opportunity to showcase our flowers at the Bernstein & Gold Customer Appreciation Party? One of our favorite details was the green cymbidium orchids we wired up to place in the hair of all the staff so they could coordinate with the arrangements. I tell you sometimes it really is all in the details! Jenna Tye took these wonderful photos for us! Thank you Jenna! We love you and your work!
