Still Life, Still Love! Saturday June 11th, 2011
If I had to be working on my birthday, then there could not be a better couple too work for then Kim and Matt, owners of Still Life Boutique. What a beautiful crowd of beautiful people in a beautiful spot surrounded by beautiful flowers and beautiful vintage details, and beautiful wooden accents created by Matt himself.
Gorgeous little place card holders on antique crocheted table runners.
Beautiful antique bottles filled with incredible peonies and soft ladies mantle, and asters on carved cedar planks
Hand carved walnut table numbers surrounded by more vintage loveliness. The fantastic vintage finery was rented from the lovely Josephine at Victoria Vintage Rentals. There is a treasure trove of vintage goodness there and we are so lucky to have her here on the Island.
Beautiful and bountiful peonies and hydrangeas spill out of an old suitcase…
Sweet, sentimental details everywhere and the masterpiece, piece de resistance, the INCREDIBLE cake from the amazingly talented Corrina Ludwig of Passion for Cakes.
And to finish this post some beautiful shots of the bouquets, that were filled with all manner of soft, romantic and fluffy blooms. Peonies, garden roses, sweet peas, and lisianthus. Heaven!
Still Life and Still Love…..

Eva & Jeff
Yet another beautiful wedding held at the spectacular Sea Cider. Eva and her Mom came to visit us a few months ago to talk about her flowers for her wedding. We knew we would have a great time with her when we showed her a picture of a bridal bouquet made entirely out of herbs and she loved it!
Eva is not only an accomplished photographer she is also the coordinator of the Thrifty Food’s Demonstration Kitchen, so her appreciation of using things like herbs and blackberries in her bouquet thrilled us.
We created simple yet stunning arrangements of white asters and white lisianthus for the ceremony and lovely little bud vases filled with white lisianthus for the tables. We are eagerly awaiting the images from the uber-talented Helene Cyr. For now check out a sneek peak on her blog. Here are a few on Helen’s images of Eva’s beautiful bouquet.
Love the herb’s and berries….
And finally the tables

What a way to end our wedding season this year. Two of our most favorite people in the whole world, and without a doubt two of the most talented photographers we and many others have had the pleasure of working with got married today. What a day it was! The sun shone and the autumn leaves seemed to shimmer with extra brilliance as Tristan Shouldice married Jenna Tye under the garry oak tree’s in the garden of the beautiful Fireside Grill. Much will be recorded, written, photographed and blogged about this wedding as the room was filled with some of the best wedding photographers around. Not only were we lucky enough to be able to do the floral design for this wedding but both of our family’s attended with Vanessa’s daughter Lily as the flower girl /”photographer in training”. Lily and Kai, the ringbearer, got swept up in the photographer energy and a little photoshoot for themselves.Event Florist Victoria BC , Floral Design Victoria BC , Garden Wedding Victoria BC , photographers Victoria BC , Wedding Floral Design , Wedding Flowers Victoria BC , Weddings Victoria BC
Judith & Mike August 02, 2009
This was a special wedding for us to be a part of as the beautiful bride was Vanessa’s daughter’s teacher. The wedding took place on a beautiful sunny BC day at the Church and State Winery in Brentwood Bay BC. We chose to go with the classic white and green palatte and used the idea of clustering different sizes of vases filled with arrangements of one kind of flower; alstromeria, lisianthus, roses and the orchids were placed in great little bud vases that looked like sea urchins. The large arrangements at the ceremony site were just complements to the fabulous old garry oak tree that Judith and Mike were married under. We will be using this wedding in our gallery once we get the photos from Amy Khangura. Best wishes and lots of love to a beautiful new couple!
